Langdale Chase Hotel Hospitality
After an extensive year-long refurbishment, the historic Langdale Chase Hotel on Lake Windermere has reopened its doors, combining modern elegance with classic charm. Cavalier Carpets was honoured to be chosen by interior designer Jane Goff to design and manufacture the carpets for this remarkable project. A mix of bespoke designs and stock options was carefully selected to complement the hotel’s modern refresh while preserving its timeless appeal.
For the lakehouse, we supplied stock carpets from our Classic Herringbone range, including Meier and Roche for the bedrooms, and colour Wright for the corridors and new cinema room. These designs offer a seamless flow throughout the space, providing a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. Meanwhile, the main house, with its historic charm, called for a more bespoke approach to match the elegant period features.
Taking inspiration from the 1920s and 30s, when the hotel first opened, we created a bespoke check pattern in heavy contract woven 80/20 axminster for the bedrooms. This understated design enhances the serene aesthetic across the 21 rooms and the boathouse suite. The grand staircase in the main house, in particular, required something exceptional to complement its recent restoration. A bespoke runner, inspired by traditional Turkish designs with a contemporary twist, was crafted to accentuate the hotel’s Victorian character.
