The Gujarat Hindu Society was established in 1965 to cater for and service the needs of the local community in Preston, Lancashire. Their temple is the largest Hindu centre in the Northwest and the second largest centre in the UK. The Centre was constructed on the site of the original temple which was housed in dilapidated 19th century buildings. Hand carved marble domes and features were imported from India and assembled by Indian craftsmen.
Cavalier were asked to design and manufacture four hundred square metres of custom woven nine row axminster to compliment the elaborate decor of the temple.
