| | | | Ambassador II Casino Cruise Liner, Florida Cavalier Carpets have taken a trick in the gaming rooms of America when their expertise in meeting complex contract challenges was called upon for the Ambassador II, Florida’s largest and most impressive casino ship.
The refurbishment of the Ambassador II afforded Cavalier Carpets the opportunity to demonstrate their design capability and production excellence in the bespoke contract carpet market to an ever changing and worldwide audience of ‘High Rollers’.
The vessel, constructed in Tyneside, had originally operated as a huge European car ferry, but has been transformed into the flagship of the Sterling Casino Line.
The project utilised all the skills and expertise of Cavalier Carpets six strong dedicated design team to ensure that the carpet not only enhanced the refurbished ship’s interior but would also be hard wearing and maintain its looks in an environment subjected to considerable foot traffic.
Almost 7,000m2 of traditional woven Axminster, in 80% wool and 20% nylon was specified for this luxury floating showpiece. The carpet had to carry several co-ordinating patterns echoing the sumptuous art deco style of the ship’s interior. The colour scheme used combines pastel hues of sage green and periwinkle blue contrasting with black and mixed metallic finishes to create a feeling of sumptuous grandeur.
