Comfort Zone - Luxury Carpet in a Flat-pack

1 July 2006

Cavalier Carpets has launched a range of carpet to take on laminate flooring's strongest attribute - ease of installation.  Its new Comfort Zone is aimed 'squarely' at the market for self-install flooring, as well as for installations with poor access such as lofts.

Cavalier Carpets sales director John Richardson said, "The demand for city centre dwelling has been a driving force in changing lifestyles with redundant commercial spaces undergoing transformations into luxury flats.  The inaccessibility of these buildings has often ruled out traditional broadloom carpet, and with standard contract carpet tiles not quite cutting it in a luxurious domestic installation, the only option for many has been hard flooring.  Yet these floors have brought their own problems with regards to noise, lack of warmth and concerns over airbourne dust levels".

Cavalier believes that the success of Comfort Zone will flow from a combination of attributes; it is easily stocked and transported, hassle free to self fit, has good sound and thermal insulation, whilst being affordable and producing minimal waste.

Comfort Zone differs from conventional carpet tiles due to its 1x1m format, rather than 50cmx50cm, and significantly longer pile height, which disguises seams.  The range requires no underlay and as retailers are expected to hold stock, consumers can take away and fit their purchase.
